New edition of Cross-dressed to Kill!

‘Cross-dressed to Kill’ my book on women who went to war disguised as men -has just got a great new design- new cover,new layouts.

I am promoting and selling my book Cross-dressed to Kill here in the UK. Also in Cape Town, South Africa doing a number of talks. A range of military history, history societies and clubs. I have done talks for two years there and am going again to give talks in 2027.

All the audiences are interested in the topic of cross-dressing women who went to war. Especially for South Africans and Capetonians, as Dr James Barry is one of my women , who spent some ten years in Cape town as surgeon-general in the British Army. The theme or subject matter of women ssoldiers is of wide general interest. What makes them extremely unusual is that they were disguised as men. Of course today women are allowed in the armed forces world-wide. there is no need for disguise. They are also allowed on frontline duty. My stories about the historic women soldiers explains the social and military history of their time. So any reader can understand better the context in which they lives,what the obstacles and challenges were.
